    Kelly Morrison, Business Owner of the Month
    Kelly Morrison, Owner of The Virtual Peacock and an AssistU VA was named Business Person of the Month in East Baton Rouge Library in December 2009. The article tells how Kelly learned of the Virtual Assistance profession from an article in Reader's Digest. She then went on to finish a Bachelors Degree in General Studies from LSU and then graduated as a Certified Virtual Assistant from AssistU. As a VA, Morrison helps small business owners with administrative and personal tasks from her home in Baton Rouge, LA. Kelly has clients in Baton Rouge, Texas, Maryland, Connecticut, New Jersey, and France.

    Thankgiving is just one of '30 Days of Thanks'
    30 Days of ThanksCathy Lynn Grossman, in her column Faith & Reason from USA Today, featured 30 Days of Thanks. 30 Days of Thanks was created by Heather Hinson, an AssistU VA, and AssistU founder, Anastacia Brice. The idea started a year ago when a friend of Hinson's posted a grateful thought daily on her blog throughout November, 2008. In 2009 Heather picked up the idea, and started posting thankful thoughts on her blog on November 1. Anastacia spotted the post and suggested they create a website, and by November 2nd it was up and the world was invited to join in. Bloggers, tweeters, and Facebookers joined in. Grossman's article appeared in USA Today the day before Thanksgiving.

    This article by Margie Zable Fisher of Entrepreneur.com profiles three successful home businesses that got help in the form of training or franchise. AssistU graduate, Sydney Craig Hart, and AssistU founder, Anastacia Brice, are both featured in this article.

    Anastacia Brice tells how and why AssistU was started in 1997. Now, twelve years later AssistU is still training and certifying top-notch virtual assistants.

    Sydni Craig Hart listened to an introductory call with Anastacia in 2006. Anastacia's call resonated with her, so she did some further research to make sure AssistU was right for her. Sydni completed her training with AssistU in 2007 and has made a very successful career as a VA.

    Virtual Assistant Business Booming
    AssistU graduate, Tiffany Odutoye is featured in this segment from 10 TV News from Central Ohio. In spite of the economic meltdown affecting so many, Tiffany's virtual assistant business is booming. She has been in business for six years helping businesses with internet marketing and online presence. Using a virtual assistant for administrative help, companies pay only for time worked. Tiffany says that the industry is still booming because businesses don't want to pay for full-time staff.

    AssistU graduate, Jessica Maes, is featured in this article in the Wisconsin State Journal. As a virtual assistant, Jessica sets her own hours, assists her clients with various administrative tasks, and still has time to care for her young son during the day. The article stresses that the relationship between a virtual assistant and her client is more like a partnership than that of an typical employee/employer relationship. Jessica is a business owner herself, providing excellent service to her clients in ongoing collaborative relationships. Anastacia Brice, founder of AssistU is quoted in this article, as well as one of Jessica's clients.
