  • In a time lacking in truth and certainty and filled with anguish and despair, no woman should be shamefaced in attempting to give back to the world, through her work, a portion of its lost heart.

What AssistU VAs Say About Virtual Assistance

1. An AssistU VA is trained to work with a client in a long-term and collaborative relationship where the VA becomes the client's partner for success. They know that that's where they can create the greatest value for their clients. Other VAs do piecework and project-work; relationships that are long-term and collaborative aren't the hallmark of their practices. There's a huge difference in the value created for clients. - Desiree Greenlee-Powell

2. The VA/client relationship is a designed alliance, based on equality and focused on the goals of tomorrow, not simply the tasks of today. - Cindy Hillsey

3. Clients work with VAs; they don't hire them. Hiring implies employment. VAs are always contractors, business owners in their own right. - Antonette Artiz

4. Virtual Assistance is distinct from providing other services remotely such as bookkeeping, marketing, and webdesign. Many VAs provide bookkeeping, marketing or web services in addition to the administrative and personal support they provide to clients. Almost no bookkeepers, marketing professionals, or web professionals are Virtual Assistants. - Marie Schulz

5. People work with a VA because they want more of something (money, time, happiness, success, freedom) or less of something (frustration, delays, overwhelm, disorganization). - Barbara Lochen

6. So-called "killer apps" promote the "do-it-yourself" mentality and give entrepreneurs and infopreneurs the sense that not only can they do it all, but they should do it all themselves. Smart people know that that's simply untrue. No one can do it all. So, while they can do anything, smart entrepreneurs and infopreneurs seeking to be successful in a competitive marketplace spend their time doing only what they love and do best, and give the rest to a talented and well-trained VA. Working with a VA gives a client a significant competitive advantage over others who still fumble with doing it all, all alone. - Sharon Broughton

7. When a client works with an AssistU VA, he also gains access to an international network of VAs and experts through the AssistU professional network. Access to ideas, answers, and solutions are just a phone call, or often a mouse-click, away. - Petra Boucher

8. VAs sell time. With all people have to do, time is more valuable today than ever before. Survey after survey shows that people would do almost anything to have more time -- for themselves, for personal growth, to do something new, to spend with family and friends, to grow a business. And when someone works with a VA, time is the ultimate reward. A VA frees up a client to spend his or her time focused only on what he or she loves and does best. - Dawn Goldberg
